The following was written on November 7th 2021

I took this time to reflect on my div III. I had a conversation with an Alumni wherein he reminded me that it doesn’t matter how good a games graphics are if the game itself isn’t fun. I’ve realized that while turning a 3d model into a sprite will be a valuable skillset in the future, it isn’t necessary for my Div III. I’ve decided that before creating any art assets, I want to make a functional game that is fun to control at the most basic level. I’m trying to showcase my skill as a designer first and foremost, developer second, and artist third. my priorities have been totally backwards.  My new objective is to create a gray box game. No assets, all functionality. To reflect this, I’ve decided to entirely re-do my production schedule. starting next week, I begin building a game.
