Well its been a while since I last made a blog post. A lot’s happened.
The most notable is that I graduated college, which was fun.
Dracula on Robot Island is on a hiatus. After having worked on it for nearly a year I needed to spend my energy elsewhere. I plan to return to it sometime in early 2023. My intention is to flesh out the game by making content out of the building blocks I designed over the course of my senior year. Many systems were built, tested with an example or two, and then it was on to the next system. There’s a lot of room for expansion.
If you’re wondering what happened between the last blog post in March and graduation in May, the answer is I made cutscenes and quality of life changes. If you’d like a more in depth description of the work I did, inquiries can be sent to kevinades.jobs@gmail.com.
With that out of the way, I was finally able to focus on the important things in life: Super Mario World. In August, I finally finished creating every asset I would need for the project. After 8 long months of planning, the time had finally come to actually start making a game. I’ve almost finished building the first level, and once it’s done it’ll be getting it’s own blog post.
As the title of this post suggests, I’d like to do this more often. I’ll be making at least one post a week. Progress reports on the work that I’ve done, opinion pieces on media I consume, something completely unexpected? Who knows? Only me of the future, and then readers of the slightly farther future.
That’s all for this update.
